New Jersey Pick 4 has lots of different ways to play - that's one of the reasons it's so popular! Below, you'll find a quick guide to the five main bet types, and how the individual numbers you pick affect the odds and prizes for your plays.
In Straight play you will have to match all four numbers in the exact order they were drawn. This is the hardest play type to match exactly, but guarantees the biggest prize if you win.
You're betting that your numbers come up, but in any order you like. There are a few different ways you can play this. Look through our 'Ways to Match Numbers' section to learn all of these.
Get the best of both worlds by splitting a $1 wager on both Straight and Box ($0.50 on each). This means that if you win the straight prize then you will automatically win the box prize as well!
This is the same as a Box play (you're betting that numbers will come up in any order) but you're placing a bet on every possible number combination that could come up (these are purchased as separate straight bets). This massively increases your chances of getting the top prize!
With Pair play you only need to select two numbers. You are betting that two numbers will appear in a specific order, either:
Front pair - Your two numbers appear as the first two numbers drawn.
Back pair - Your two numbers appear as the last two numbers drawn.
There are different ways you can match numbers when you choose Box, Straight/Box, and Wheel plays. You may want to match four unique numbers or match pairs of numbers - the choice is yours.
