NJ Pick 4 offers a variety of ways to play, making each game uniquely tailored to its player! There are two daily Pick 4 draws: the Midday draw at 12:59 PM and the Evening draw at 10:57 PM. Be sure to purchase your ticket before the cutoff time: 12:53 PM for the Midday draw and 10:53 PM for the Evening draw.
In Pick 4 you pick four numbers to start playing! Choose these numbers yourself or use a Quick Pick tool if you don't know what numbers to use. They can be any combination of numbers between 0-9 (except if you selected Pair play then you only need to pick two).
There are a total of five different game variations: Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Wheel and Pair Play. Go to our Ways to Play page for a full breakdown on each play type.
You choose how much to bet in NJ Pick 4! Wagers start at $0.50, then $1, $2, $3, $4, and a maximum $5. The prizes for the different wagers are directly proportional: the $1 prizes are double value the $0.50 prizes, and so on.
Play in consecutive draws to avoid having to enter into each one individually. You can play for the next seven days by selecting the Multi Draw option on your payslip. This will enter your selected numbers for seven draws in a row.
The Fireball option is a fun add-on which gives you an extra chance to win prizes! It's a fifth number selected randomly after the main numbers are drawn. You can then replace any of the main numbers with the Fireball (it can't replace your own numbers). Adding the Fireball doubles the cost of your wager.
You'll never have to wait more than a day for the next Pick 4 drawing, but if even that's too much waiting for you, then the Instant Match add-on is the game for you. Find out if you're a winner right there in the store!
If you opt into the Instant Match game on your playslip, your ticket will contain your chosen Pick 4 numbers (of course) as well as four Instant Match numbers. The Instant Match numbers each have a prize value ranging from $2 to $500, and if any of your Pick 4 numbers match the Instant Match numbers, you win that prize, and can cash it in right there in the store.
The Instant Match add-on costs $1 on top of the base ticket price, and the odds of winning a prize are roughly 1 in 7. Bear in mind that you can't play Instant Match if you've opted for a Quick Pick ticket - this is a quirk of how the lottery terminal generates the numbers.
